We will be having our annual "Buffalo Range Pig Roast" on August 30th this year. Come out and enjoy a day of shooting and great food!
Cost: $10.00 in addition to normal Range daily fee.
Beginning 3/29/08, we will be Closed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from April until September!
Our days of operation are Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Hours: 9-5 Mon. & Fri.
9-6 Sat.& Sun.
Sign up hours are:
9-4 Mon. & Fri.
9-5 Sat.& Sun.
We will not sign in Anyone after 4pm on weekdays. And after 5pm on weekends.
Range season passes are available in the Range House!

THE PROPERTY
The property on which Buffalo Range consists
of low undulating hills. The property was at one time
strip-mined which accounts for the terrain contour.
DIRECTIONS TO BUFFALO RANGE
From the East: I-80 West to I-23 South to I-6
West approximately 4 miles to Buffalo Rock Road
South to dead-end. Go West 1/2 mile.
We are on the left.
From the West: I-80 East to I-178 South to I-6
East approximately 5 miles to Buffalo Rock Road South
to dead-end. Go West 1/2 mile.

We will not sign in anyone after 1 hour before posted
closing time. Do not try, as you will be turned away.
NOTE: FOID cards are not necessary to
shoot at Buffalo Range, but it is wise to
have it to transport weapons and is
necessary to buy ammo.

The Ranges:

Rifle Range:
Covered firing benches at 50,75,and 100 yards. Eleven firing points at 50 yards, Two firing points at 75 yards, and Fourteen firing points at 100 yards.
Shotgun Range:
Covered firing line with Four manually operated clay throwers.
Handgun Range:
Up to fifteen firing points divided between 50 feet and 25 yards. Uncovered.
Plinking Pit:
Large open pit with range 25 to 100 yards, open and uncovered with tables. Capacity: up to 100 firing points. Also there are four clay throwers located in this area.

NO FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION ARE SOLD
AT THE RANGE. What you need you must
bring with you.
EVERYONE MUST WEAR EAR
AND EYE PROTECTION.
Bring these with you as well.
If you forget, we do sell EYE and EAR
protection in the "Office".
We offer FREE Coffee & HOT CHOCOLATE.
We sell bottled water, and various
carbonated beverages.
We also sell targets & BUFFALO RANGE
T-Shirts in the "Office".
By the plinking range and rifle range are a few
picnic tables which are available on a first come,
first served basis. You may bring grills with and
set these up for your use. Please be responsible
with the charcoal and put used coals into the
"burn pile" right next to the small pistol range.
The toilet facilities are provided by Porta-Potties
and an outside access toilet on the Dirt Gear
Building, complete with a sink, running water,
soap, air hand dryer and paper towels.
General Conduct & Safety Rules
1. Everyone must sign in before entering the
shooting range.
2. Payment of the range fees entitles participants
to access the range areas within the framework of the
range rules and regulations. YOU MUST OBSERVE ALL
RANGE RULES. Failure to follow rules or the
commands of the range officers will result in
immediate ejection from the property.
3. Nobody under 18 years old will be allowed to
shoot unless individually supervised by an adult.
4. EVERYONE MUST WEAR EYE AND EAR PROTECTION.
5. All range breaks (to change or paste targets) are
to be called by the Range Officer on duty or arranged
by mutual agreement of all shooters on the firing line
in the absence of a Range Officer.
ALL FIREARMS MUST BE UNLOADED, WITH ACTIONS
OPEN DURING ALL BREAKS.
DO NOT HANDLE
FIREARMS DURING BREAKS AND SHOOTERS
MUST STAND BACK FROM THE BENCHES.
6. Keep all firearms pointed in a safe direction at all
times. Keep fingers away from the trigger until you are
ready to shoot. All firearms must be transported to and from the ranges and on the ranges in an
unloaded condition.
Absolutely No Loaded Firearms behind the firing lines at any time!
7. BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND SHOOT AT YOUR
TARGET ONLY. NO CROSS FIRING IS PERMITTED.
8. Obey all posted rules and regulations. Be sure to
read the regulations posted at the various ranges
before using them.
9. THE FOLLOWING ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AND
WILL CAUSE IMMEDIATE EJECTION FROM THE RANGE:
a) Shooting at glass, metal or other hard targets.
b) Use of tracers, incendiary or explosive ammunition.
c) Shooting at or above barrier devices or at Target
Stand Markers or range property; i.e., mesh netting,
tables, chairs, stands, etc.
d) Shooting at anything other than approved targets.
e) ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR
ILLEGAL DRUGS OF ANY KIND.
10. Picking up brass is limited to your own only.
PICKING UP BRASS IS ONLY ALLOWED DURING
A RANGE BREAK.
11. Please report all violations to the Range Officers.
12. If you are not sure of the rules for a particular
range, have any doubt or question, always ask the
Range Officer on duty before you proceed with shooting.
